Paradocks, Space Enabler

Paradocks zeigen mit ihrem Space Enabler auf, welches Potenzial in Ko-Kreation und Kollaboration für neue, kreative Geschäftsmodelle steckt.
Der Verein Paradocks macht mit dem 2014 bezogenen Packhaus im 3. Wiener Gemeindebezirk eine brachliegende Raumressource in der Stadt für kreative Arbeit nutzbar. Für das Modellprojekt wird eine leerstehende Gewerbeimmobilie zwischengenutzt. Auf zehn Geschossen sind 92 verhältnismäßig leistbare Raumangebote auf insgesamt 4 200 m2 verfügbar, die von rund 80 jungen UnternehmerInnen flexibel genutzt werden. Mit diversen Veranstaltungsformaten und Impulsen erfolgt die Öffnung hin zum umgebenden Stadtraum. Im Rahmen angewandter Forschung entstand das Packhaus-Handbuch: als Leitfaden für die Umsetzung einer gelebten Zwischennutzung teilt es Ideen und Know-how junger Kreativ-ArbeiterInnen und zeigt die Möglichkeiten von interdisziplinärem Austausch auf.
Mit dem Demonstrator Space Enabler lädt das Team Paradocks BesucherInnen der VIENNA BIENNALE ein, dem Potenzial Neuer Arbeit mit einer kreativen Reise vor Ort in der Marxergasse nachzuforschen.

The Paradocks Association makes a spatial resource in Vienna’s 3rd district—uninhabited until its 2014 occupancy—utilizable for creative work. A vacant piece of commercial real estate is temporarily used for the model project. Spread across 10 stories and 4,200 m2, 92 relatively affordable spaces have been made available, which are flexibly used by about 80 young entrepreneurs. With diverse event formats and impulses, the opening takes place up to the surrounding city environs. The Packhaus Handbook arose in the framework of applied research: As a guide for implementing thriving temporary usage, it shares young creative professionals’ ideas and know-how and demonstrates the possibilities of interdisciplinary exchange.
With its demonstrator Space Enabler, Team Paradocks invites VIENNA BIENNALE visitors to explore the potential of New Work with a creative journey right here in the Marxergasse.
